ETH World - New Perspectives for Collaborative Design
نویسنده
چکیده
Information Technology, globalization and new budgetary processes have growing impact on universities. Planning and design are no longer restricted to the invention and construction of physical artifacts and architecture. The number of non-physical or virtual aspects of buildings is growing steadily. The emergence of rapidly changing and spatially distributed research teams requires new types of cooperation between people, buildings, and virtual working environments. The same requirements apply for distance learning and distance research. ETH Zürich is launching a set of three projects that will combine physical and virtual aspects, thus creating an augmented architecture. The projects are known as ETH Campus, ETH Zentrum and ETH World. This information was first presented in this form in Seoul, Korea, in November 1999. Fig. 1. A Framework for the Participative Management of Large-Scale Urban Environments
How can architects and urban planners design sustainable future cities? Are urban designers really designing urban systems? And which new computerbased techniques have changed the way they think, plan, and communicate? In this article we will investigate how design thinking can contribute to the planning of sustainable future cities. We will emphasize the benefits of using computer-based techni...
متن کاملA Collaborative Stochastic Closed-loop Supply Chain Network Design for Tire Industry
Recent papers in the concept of Supply Chain Network Design (SCND) have seen a rapid development in applying the stochastic models to get closer to real-world applications. Regaring the special characteristics of each product, the stracture of SCND varies. In tire industry, the recycling and remanufacturing of scraped tires lead to design a closed-loop supply chain. This paper proposes a two-st...
متن کاملA Methodology for Collaborative Design Process and Conflict Analysis
The process of collaborative engineering design is relatively complex, and often results in various conflicts due to technical and social factors. Therefore, to understand the relationships between design process and design conflict is critical to improve the collaborative design productivity. This paper provides a methodology for analyzing collaborative design process and conflict based on a n...
متن کاملIMPACT LABORATORY IMPROVING MANUFACTURING PRODUCTIVITY WITH ADVANCED COLLABORATION TECHNOLOGY A Generic Collaborative Engineering Design Process Model for Conflict Management
Collaborative engineering design involves various stakeholders with different perspectives. The design process is relatively complex and difficult to handle. Various conflicts always happen among the design tasks and affect the design team performance. Therefore, to represent collaborative design process and capture the evolution of design perspectives in a structured way is critical to manage ...
